Maritime Law

Maritime law includes basically anything to do with ships; mainly commercial shipping, although pleasure craft are part of the practice. It includes specifically maritime law matters such as cargo and bunkers claims, charterparty disputes, marine insurance, collisions and groundings, and marine pollution and salvage, to name only some of the kinds of cases we handle.

The cases we handle involve shipowners, ship charterers and operators, as well as their P&I, Defence and H&M insurance interests.

Emergency response is an important component of our maritime law practice, as situations can arise at any hour of day or night. In addition, a prompt strategic deployment of resources invariably results in improved case management and analysis down the road.

In addition to “pure” maritime law, we also handle cases in related transportation areas, including trucking and rail.
