New Drone Regulations

Transport Canada announced today, simultaneously with Canada Gazette publication, new drone safety regulations, which will come into force on June 1, 2019. The rules will apply to all drone pilots flying drones between 250 grams and 25 kilograms, and that are operated within the drone pilot’s visual line of sight, whether the purpose is pleasure, work, or research. The regulations include provisions in relation to registration, online examination for pilot certification, and various technical operating requirements and restrictions.
