We often call ourselves maritime lawyers, or shipping and commercial –litigation lawyers, as well as environmental and insurance lawyers, but as “basket” categories, these actually mask a broad range of practice reality and experience.

In the most generic terms, our practice includes contract law, tort law (in particular negligence law) and regulatory or “small-c” criminal law.  Many of these areas translate from the maritime context into their non-marine counterparts, whether contract or tort law, or environmental and insurance.

Much of our practice in these areas sources on dispute management, which covers our litigation (including appellate practice), arbitration and mediation activities.
